Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Consultant – Italian Standards Specialist

Location: Flexible / Remote with travel as required

Corsair Technical Services is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive EH&S Consultant with demonstrated expertise in Italian occupational health and safety regulations. This role supports clients operating in or expanding to Italy, ensuring compliance with Legislative Decree 81/2008 and EU directives, while integrating global best practices in environmental, health, and safety management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 Conduct EH&S audits and risk assessments for client operations in Italy and internationally.

 Advise on compliance with Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008 (Testo Unico sulla Sicurezza sul Lavoro) and EU safety directives.

 Develop and implement site-specific safety policies, procedures, and training programs.

 Assist clients in drafting and updating the Documento di Valutazione dei Rischi (DVR) and other mandatory documentation.

 Support the appointment and coordination of key safety roles such as RSPP (Safety Manager), MC (Competent Doctor), and RLS (Workers’ Representative).

 Provide guidance on emergency preparedness, PPE usage, and health surveillance protocols.

 Monitor regulatory changes in Italy and provide timely updates and strategic advice.

 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EH&S into broader operational strategies.

 Prepare detailed reports and present findings to client leadership and regulatory bodies.

 

Qualifications:

US Citizenship required

 Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

 Minimum 5 years of EH&S consulting experience, with at least 2 years focused on Italian or EU regulations.

 In-depth knowledge of Legislative Decree 81/2008 and Italian workplace safety practices.

 Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, CSP, or equivalent preferred.

 Fluent in English; proficiency in Italian highly desirable.

 Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

 Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

 

Preferred Skills:

 Experience working with multinational clients or in cross-border EH&S compliance.

 Familiarity with ISO 45001 and environmental management systems.

 Ability to deliver training and workshops in both English and Italian.
